I have a wish.
Wishes can be in the vaguest of terms,
Or can be definite and concrete.
They can be made on a whim,
Or thought about for days, months, years.

But my wish isn't a whim.
Neither is it vague.
My wish isn't in fancy terms.
It is only a few words.
Just a few, not many at all.

Some wishes are for the future.
Many are, at that.
But some wishes are to correct something
That happened in the past.
"If I hadn't said that," "If I had done that."

My wish is from the past,
But it is for the future.
For the near future, for the far future.
It really doesn't matter.
As long as it is granted.

Because wishes are made to be granted.
